For European Citizens

Each of you will require the following:

  • Photocopies of your passports 
  • Certified Birth Certificate with an Apostille stamp, translated into Greek
  • A “Single Status” letter or letter of No Impediment endorsed with Apostille stamp. “Single Status” is a document issued from your local registrar office and insures that there is no problem to get married for the both of you.
  • Decree Absolute – if any of the parties is divorced, a certified copy of the Decree Absolute must be obtained. 
  • If any of the parties is a widower, a Death Certificate must be obtained.
  •  In the case of adoption of one or both parties, this certificate must be presented. These papers needs translation into Greek and must endorsed with Apostille stamp.
  • 2 witnesses must be present, with their ID-cards or passports

(Daphne Weddings can also provide witnesses if necessary)

All the above documents need to be authenticated by your local Greek Embassy or Consulate.

I would like to inform you that all the documents will be kept in your marriage file in the city hall.

 

For Non-European Citizens

Each of you will require the following:

  • Photocopies of your passports 
  • Certified Birth certificates with Apostille stamp, translated into Greek
  • Marriage license, stating that it is valid for both of you to get married in Greece-Skopelos,  Greek translation and Apostille stamp.
  • Or you can issue instead of Marriage license, a No Impediment or Single Status letter which will mention that you are free to get married in Skopelos. Translated in Greek and endorsed with Apostille stamp.
  • If applicable, documentary evidence (death certificate or final/irrevocable divorce decree) of the termination of a previous marriage (the most recent, if more than one) and in case of adoption, this certificate must also be presented. All these documents need translation into Greek and an Apostille stamp.
  • 2 witnesses must be present with their passports

The Apostille Stamp can be obtained from the Secretary of State of the issuing state.

All the above documents need to be translated into Greek and authenticated by your local Greek Embassy or Consulate.

I would like to inform you that the documents will be kept in your marriage file in the city hall.
